Adventures in HAIR!

Well my friends, the time had come. The lovely bestie Pickens Woman came to my dwelling prepared to unload on my head. Threw on this year's VBS shirt for the messy part...it had run it's course of usefulness and heck, we were about to do some "amazing wonders" :P

Cool creations

Summer is the time for craftiness and doing stuff! Here's some of what I've been doing...

 For a sweet manicure, cut out cool clips of magazines (to the actual shape of your nail is best, but I didn't figure that out till AFTER pics)...

I wanted those awesome typographic nails as you can see.

 Paint a clear layer onto your nails and once it's tacky, press the clipping onto your nail. Trim any access.

 Not perfect, but fun!

 Super secret peach lemonade that my guy taught me! YUM.

This side has pockets too, but you can't really see. This was a fun project!

IBC had it's 4th of July celebration this past Sunday! So fun. And cute. You should've been there really, but if you weren't I'll give you a little taste of what went down and you will WEEP to not have been there and sit on the front row next kids show...whenever that is...Thanksgiving maybe??

Isn't this bracelet so cute? I have a pile of old tee shirts on my floor that I'm still trying to decide whether or not it's ok to rip up for this project.

 

Fruit flush. May try this out in a twisted sense of fun. I love junk food. Just had a bunch of it though visiting family over the weekend, and I like to "tune up" every once in awhile...aka go to the chiropractor and get snapped back in shape, go to the dentist and in this case: detox a lil bit.

But I'm still thinking about it.

I really have been getting better...honest! I have the upper body strength of a T-rex at this point!

Gonna find this book and start it! Actually I've already started it. I'm guessing with all the bits and pieces I've heard/read in the past I've read half the book. But it will be nice to knock out the whole thing of it in one shot!

Summer's sumthin else!

May's almost over already! Being off school is cool stuff...I've had time to do more craftyish things, reading, cooking, etc. I have some design work to do over the Summer but I'm pushing it off :P Without further ado, pics of what I've been up to:

 Summer means VBS and VBS means clowning! Funfun. Got a few gigs in the near future, plus leading worship time at our VBS as a human being! And this guy I met is really cool. He throws bread and stuff.

Yes, those are TOMS!!! I ordered size 7s, "new" off eBay, from "a United States seller" for $20. I figured they must be defective in some way. Soon after, I received a size 8 pair with the soles not glued down and arch padding on only the right shoe...from China. 

BUT!

They fit good enough for me to keep them, I glued the soles down and I'm still debating the left arch thing...I think one of those makeup sponges will do the job. Either way, I have toms and I'm happy about it! :)

See the colorful hair people? I won't do a million colors at a time like that, but looking forward to trying out some highlights! Got that box of bleach and 3 different colors for around $7 at Walmart yesterday.

Tried some new hair thing today. Kinda hard to see from the pics, but you get the idea right?

A random post

What's up with me these days? Hmmmmm...

Well first off, you should probably go see this movie. This particular love story I didn't fancy so well (but my bestie thinks it's sock-em'-bopper) and there are some elements I found sorta dumb, but the message is good :) It's not Facing the Giants or Fireproof, but it's nice to be able to go see a movie that is uplifting in more than just a feel goody sort of way. And my BUD will tell you I cried. This is only half true.

Where there's a do, there's a don't. Don't go see the Lorax. It's not a REAL Dr. Seuss movie. Don't waste your time unless you just wanna go see a random cartoon. Then you can go see the Lorax.

Been working on designing case statement and now a big huge project for the local food banks in our area. A lot of work, but still exciting. Ready to be done with this semester...5 weeks left! Or is it 6? Tell me not.

Went to a fantabulous concert over spring break and saw Kiros, Nine Lashes, Manafest, TFK and Red! Nine Lashes was the big thing for me, cuz I'd never seen them live before and Red was great, but not as good as when I'd seen them in the past. We have pics, so go look on Facebook.

Not last and not least either, MOVING HOUSE. Packing boxes and such like that. We're moving into a rent house next month, and I'm really happy it's in town.

ANNNNNNNNNND I just got really Pinterest and history paper distracted, forgot about this post, just found it again, and now it's time to go to sleep. Like a boss. Go me ;P

Oh, and the boys are back in soccer. Looking forward to some games!

LOOK at this stocking!!!!!! It's from my Efum, made by Lou. Apparently they schemed and schemed about how to make it for a long time and I LOVE IT!!!!! It completely made the day.

And here's a story of what happened to me today, the day after Christmas. I woke up and it hit me like a lightning bolt that I had not heard one of my favorite Christmas songs come on the radio AT ALL this season. HEARTBREAK!!! I communicated my woe to some family members, who all said, "YouTube it, you can still listen to it, it's not too late", but it sorta WAS. Having special Christmas songs come on the radio of their own accord for the Holidays is one of the many irreplaceable sensations of the Season. So I sucked it up and went about life until tonight at 9:24, when almost home from a movie time at Honey's, lo, IT CAME ON AIR 1!!!!! Made my day!!!! By the way isn't that such a great word, "lo"? I think we should bring it back into this day and age. Like "I tried to X out of iTunes but lo, it took like 7 minutes". So doable. Anyway in the end, I even got to listen to my song. It's the little things that let you know God has your best interest at heart. This is the stuff that makes my heart just that little bit thankfuller. Oh, you want to listen to it too you say? Here ya go. Having someone else Youtube it for you is almost like it coming on of it's own accord...

Corny? I guess yes. Do I care. Nope.
