Christmas!!!!!

Decided to post a Christmas post with a shout out to my non-facebooking buddies Toria and Leesie :) They never get any cool pictures because I am a jolly rotten emailer and I never post on here. This post may be a little boring to the 239,245,8
57 rest of you who've all seen these pics on fb, but I don't care about y'all. Ok, I do. All right here come the pics, forgive the quality, they're all from my phone........

Egg nog night with fam, egg nog, chex mix and Kung Fu Panda 2! And a cuddly picture.

Did a little SAVERS Christmas shopping. There's No L. Yeah, No L? Noel?
Ha!
haha.
heh.

We found a hugeginormous chocolate santa.

Our Christmas tree!
And the gingerbread house contest!

Bird's house won the "Most Like a Bloody Massacre" award. Or "Best Pile of Lava". Take your pick.
Lou's won overall! The frosting snowman did it.

Zekers won "Best Little Gumdrop Hangy-down Thingy" or something. He was pretty stoked about it though.
Mayf's won "Most Robotic". Don't you agree?

Mine won "Most Delicious Looking", but I think all that red icing just looks nasty.

Floofy hair

And a first attempt at candy cane nails.

The chillens did a wonderful singing job at the Immanuel Christmas play, so let's see if I can get this vid to upload. Maybe. We'll see what happens.

And now the actual Christmas :) Didn't get many pics of the day, but here's an idea...

Pink laptop keys cover thingy! Fun present! Looks so awesome! Problem is the silicone gets stuck up under my spacebar and I can't hit it. So I just took it off. Still figuring out what to do there...any ideas?

Formal blowdarting with Caesar. Made him this tee with what once was a black fabric sharpie from Nana. Now it writes about as well as the wrong end of a candle. But the shirt turned out better than I thought.

Looking at all the stuff!!

LOOK at this stocking!!!!!! It's from my Efum, made by Lou. Apparently they schemed and schemed about how to make it for a long time and I LOVE IT!!!!! It completely made the day.

Me and Hun on Christmas night.

A couple of Christmas Quotes:
Dad (reading a Christmas picture book): "And the cows and sheep in the stable also bowed their heads with the wise men--wait, REALLY? That's not Biblical! What are we reading????"

Bird: "Zekey, let me teach you the secret handshake!"
Zekey: "Not right now. I'm busy working on the secret elbow strike."

And here's a story of what happened to me today, the day after Christmas. I woke up and it hit me like a lightning bolt that I had not heard one of my favorite Christmas songs come on the radio AT ALL this season. HEARTBREAK!!! I communicated my woe to some family members, who all said, "YouTube it, you can still listen to it, it's not too late", but it sorta WAS. Having special Christmas songs come on the radio of their own accord for the Holidays is one of the many irreplaceable sensations of the Season. So I sucked it up and went about life until tonight at 9:24, when almost home from a movie time at Honey's, lo, IT CAME ON AIR 1!!!!! Made my day!!!! By the way isn't that such a great word, "lo"? I think we should bring it back into this day and age. Like "I tried to X out of iTunes but lo, it took like 7 minutes". So doable. Anyway in the end, I even got to listen to my song. It's the little things that let you know God has your best interest at heart. This is the stuff that makes my heart just that little bit thankfuller. Oh, you want to listen to it too you say? Here ya go. Having someone else Youtube it for you is almost like it coming on of it's own accord...

Corny? I guess yes. Do I care. Nope.

Well, this is the end of my Christmas picture post. Hope you now feel oh so updated. Now I am off to read the Word of the Birthday Savior, then maybe one of the gems that came out of that stocking, then fall asleep looking forward to Valentine's day! :D

Some "I"s

Inspired by my dear Bekah I am now posting a quick post of "I"s.

I am...
Excited about my client meeting in digital illustration tomorrow.
Thankful for my newfound Pintrest, even if the server (or something) is very bad.
Looking forward to Thanksgiving break!

I want...
to try this sock hair curly thing I saw on Pintrest. If it works I will WAY be stoked.

I pray...
for my family
for my Man who's seeking Him
for the rest of this semester

I think...
That having random items for making various holiday goodies is ABSOLUTELY FANTABULOUS!!!!!!

I need...
To shower and catch up on psych
To get started with Christ
mas idears
And to update my iPhone

I made...
Pumpkin spice muffins tonight

I read...
Barely ever these days.

I have...
a New Year's resolution in mind already to regain my senior high school expertise at sending things via real mail.

And also I am...
wearing pigtails for the first time ever since I was 2 in this pic. Crazy man!

Currently me

How are my lovely followers? Check me out, actually posting DURING THE SCHOOL SEMESTER!!! *collective gasp* I feel bloggy, even tho I'm a bit behind in psychology...which is NOT as fun as I had anticipated. Anyway, what's up with me you ask?

Had a wonderfulawesomeblessed Saturday! I graduated to a green belt in TKD, testing is always fun stuff. Grandparents and GG have been visiting and came
to watch too! After we got home I pulled out the ol' sewing machine and sewed Honey's Instructor-in-training stripe along his gi collar and hemmed up his pants. He looks so handsome and I'm so proud he got that stripe. He gets to teach our TKD class while Mr. T is away and he is so excited (and I am too) :D. After my mad sewing skillz I grabbed my shopping buddy (Lou) and my chauffeur (Efum) and headed out to do some erranding. We made a SAVERS drop-off and Honey found an awesome shirt. Stopped at Sally's and I bought me some GiGi "Sugar Bare" wax. I did not have lovely luck with my last home wax can, as I utterly despise wax that is messy and doesn't ever come off OR bring offending hair off with it. But I tried this new stuff tonight and it works wonderful! It's water soluble so if you spill the wax all over you (which I always do) you can just rinse and restart. Ah-maze-in. Didn't know the Lord had created such cool stuff. Anyhoo, we went to Academy and Honey got some cool shoes to replace his holey ugly old ones. Sweetness! He then treated us two girls to Starbucks before we headed home (what a guy huh?!). However, my decidedly UNsalted caramel mocha frappe was yummy enough, but could have been made much better at home I think. We shall spare further detail, but suffice it to say that our "Reasons to go to Sweetbay instead of Starbucks" list got a lot longer :) Ended out the day watching BOLT with the fam over psychology homework. I am so thankful to have a sharp n smart honeyman to explain textbooks in english for me! He even drew me up some little illustrative doodles (now ur speaking muh language buddy boy! :P)!
This is him btw. Mhm :D

Moving past this day: I completed the James Challenge from wonderful church camp (I think, though I didn't keep very good track of what week was which). Love the book of James! Here's a lil snippet for thought: "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need" James 4:16. Mmmmm-mmm!

How's school for people? My school is quite busy busy and pretty challenging, but fun. Life's most surely different being IN the graphic design program...we're not a freshman anymore! It feels funny to peek into the freshman class and see their sceered looks and not actually be feeling it anymore. More and more competition every day, though I am qu

ite friendly with and very much enjoy my Graphic Design classmates (like all the same 12 people :P).
Currently praying for my favorite teacher, who no longer works for UAFS and is quite gone away. I took a class from him both semesters of my freshman year and his quirky unexpectedness was the only certain thing on campus that year. No professor yet has ever seen so much in me that I didn't know I had, and believed in me and my work to where he'd bet his life on it. The analogy I think of is teaching someone to use a sword, then putting an apple on your head and fully trusting your student to thwack it (the apple, not your head) clean off with a razor sharp blade. He praised the work in just the right way, was always super laid back, and (when he had to) tore me down with my own talent. I miss him and he could stand some prayers as a human being even though I'm not for sure what's going on.

A few other things:
  • I worked and consigned at the growing kids sale! So much fun and my earnings came back ok :)
  • SAVERs 50% day that happened recently was healthy for my wardrobe! Then my sweet mumsy bought me more cool garage sale findings as a surprise...Aeropastale! My favorite! <3
  • I have a really cute Zeke. Have you a really cute Zeke? You should.
  • I am a thankful and contented lil girly! I mean, read my post, ain't you jealous of me? ;)
  • Recent quote by mom, who found Caesar at our door one night: "Look what I found, it's a Marc in the dark. We will take him home. We will call him Clark." To those of you who do not recognize this as an amazing Dr. Seuss quote, I apologize but you're just not cool. These are the jokes people.
I can think of naught else to say, so I am off to fool around with my blog template...maybe :)

Jane Eyre

"Everything seems unreal...you sir, are the most phantomlike of all."

I read it on a treadmill early into high school. We have the most beautiful, out of print green and gold copy that I am absolutely in love with. It is probably my favorite story. I had never watched a single one of the numerous film adaptations for fear it would ruin my imagination of the characters and the story. That was of course until I saw the trailer for Jane Eyre, the 2011 edition. Yikes! I knew right away that this would be the one. Focus Features hated me enough to release the film only to a limited number of theaters (really? Fort Smith Malco didn't get included???), but I counted down the days until it finally came out on video. After a desperate search across town for an available DVD rental facility, we downloaded it from iTunes, broke out the tea and cakes and hooked up the computer to the TV.

And it was a good movie.

The End.

Ok, I’ll actually review a little. Michael Fassbender embodied Mr. Rochester STUNNINGLY. It transfixed me quite. Alice from Wonderland Mia Wasikowska made a pretty cool Jane too. If you know the story you would no there is no way of making it exactly kid friendly, but it is clean--no cussin’. There is kissin’ and a Pride and Prejudicey nude painting to look at though. The soundtrack was pretty lovely, also Pride and Prejudicey but less memorable. The worst of the movie was the violence I suppose...there are a couple of smacks and fist scuffles, girls get struck at a bad school, and there's one scene with a bit of blood involved. But hey, it's not the Gladiator. This is definitely one that I'm gonna own in the near future. I shall leave you with a lovely preview that will make you want to watch it too :)

The Evolution of Meg's Macbook

Once upon a time on a day much like today, Meg awaited her little bundle of joy in an excited fashion. Finally it came at about 3 0'clock in the afternoon, in a state such as this:

Meg was delighted, as this was the expected appearance of her little dear in its early state of life. With a little assistance, the box transformed into this:

Meg pressed the power button located on the Macbook Pro's front side and prepared to enjoy the final stage of her Macbook's life cycle...or so she thought.

3 minutes later:

Gloom.

Despair.

Death.

The poor mutilated creature shriveled up into it's original cardboard cocoon to get sent off for burial back to the company while Meg awaited a new bundle of joy.

The End.

Part II

Evolution of Meg

Happy first day of SUMMER!

What is Summer for you?

For me, Summer is...

1. Crafting!

Anybody else that agrees should check out this great giveaway! I want one of these things!!!

Painted this family crest for Papa R's father's day present. Amateur, but he loved it and my sweet guy says I should go into business :) He makes me smile.

2. Cooking!

Made these for memorial day! Yellow cupcakes cut in half with a brownie in the middle. Throw some white and yellow frosting inside for mustard and mayonnaise, coat the tops lightly with sugar water and sprinkle crushed oats on the tops. So funny and SO YUMMY!

3. Siblings!

So much fun to watch swimming, get snowcones, play bionicles, or in this case go to best buy at test some Bose headphones :) All that fun stuff I can't do very much while I'm in school!

4. VBS!

We already had one VBS at Immanuel Baptist Church and it was a BLAST! I did music. Love these kiddies!!! I'm trying to post a video, but blogger is technical difficulty-ing me...ARG! One more VBS to go, at Fellowship Bible Church! Bring your kids, it will be a blast!

5. Man time!

Having spare time to spend with my Ethan is an awesome Summer thing! We like to go shopping, and walking, and cooking, and writing, and sword training, and talking, and eating, and date nights, and the list goes on!

So that's a taste of Summer for me. Anybody care to post on Summer for you? I'd love to see!

If ya gots one, if ya expectin one, or if ya wants one...

Behold! I was checking out my friend Brittney's blog, and stole this list that she stole apparently from somewhere on the Internet :) I thought it inspirational in my attempts at wifely preparation for the future.

BUT before I get into that, I must state an interesting thing that the LORD has showed me recently. You know those times when you are a tad off in your spiritual walk, and you need to jerk yourself back, get right with Him, and ask Him for His guiding hand? In those off-kilter times, I am also off-kilter in my relationship with my man.

Why?

God gave my the love that I have in my heart for Efum. When I am not loving my heavenly God like I should, how can I expect to be able to love my earthly man like I should?

Just a thought in the middle of a post that wasn't supposed to be about that. Just another reason that I shall never be a popular blogger.

ANYWAY. The list...

Eighteen Ways to be a Blessing to your Husband

1. Ask your Husband, "What are your goals for this week?"
2. Ask your Husband, "How can I help you accomplish your goals?"
3. Ask, "Is there anything that I can do to make it easier for you?"
4. Be organized with your housekeeping. Then your husband will be free to do his work.
5. Save energy for him everyday.
6. Put him first over children, parents, friends, jobs, ladies Bible studies, etc.
7. Willingly and cheerfully rearrange your schedule for him when necessary.
8. Talk to him in a positive light to others. Don't slander him at all, even if what you are saying is true.
9. Do whatever you can to help him succeed and accomplish his goals (Ex: run errands for him, pray for him, organize your day to be available to help him w/projects).
10. Consider his work (job, goals, hobbies, etc.) as more important than your own.
11. Think of specific ways that you can help his accomplish his goals (Ex: keep careful record of money spent in budget, take care in recording telephone messages, etc).
12. Consider things that you are involved in. How do they bless your husband? Ask him.
13. Be warm and gracious towards his family.
14. Do and say things that build him up.
15. Dress and apply your makeup in an attractive manner that is pleasing to your husband.
16. When your husband sins, reprove him gently, always give him hope and pointing him to the Lord.
17. Encourage him to use his spiritual gifts.
18. Submit to your husband's leading.

This gives me some ideas for new goals for this new week! Also, these steps would be fun to make prayer cards with--finding corresponding verses and fun stuff like that. Maybe it should be a project, cuz I like projects. Speaking of, check out this give-away by my big sis Bekah! She made a set of prayer cards that are cool beans and they could be all yours! Or all mine! Or somebody else's! Get in on it, hurry up!

I should blog more, because I never think I have anything to blog about until I actually get down to it--then suddenly there's a lot! :P But for now, I will leave you all with a picture of a couple of my favoritest fellas.

Aren't they delicious?

Snack anyone?

The other day we all needed some good lunchbox fodder in order to properly enjoy JahJah and Jesse's soccer game, and I found this fun recipe! It was tagged by many miniatures (and olders) as... "the awesomest popcorn", "best thing ever", etc. SOOooooooooOOooo now everybody has to make it.

Ingredients:

5 quarts of popped popcorn (NOTE: I didn't know how much popcorn that was, so I just threw 1 cup into the popper that my man biked over and let me borrow :P)

1/2 Cup melted butter

2 Tbs Parmesan cheese (I didn't have any, so I'm labeling it as optional ;D)

1 Tbs parsley flakes

1 tsp garlic salt

1 tsp chili powder

4 to 6 drops of your favorite hot sauce

Put the popcorn in a big bowl, mix everything else up, drizzle it over, toss it around and there ya have it! I ended up tweaking a lot...it didn't seem like enough "sauce", and I 1 1/2x-ed the sauce part if that makes sense. Tweak it up however you want and it's super easy! And great for lunchboxes I might add.

Happy Easter my friends. Chew on this song for a year or two.

Wonderful, merciful Savior

Precious Redeemer and Friend.

Who would've thought that a lamb could

Rescue the souls of men?

Oh, You rescue the souls of men.

Counselor, Comforter, Keeper

Spirit we long to embrace,

You offer hope when our hearts have

Hopelessly lost the way.

Oh, we've hopelessly lost the way.

You are the One that we praise.

You are the One we adore.

You give the healing and grace our

Hearts always hunger for.

Oh, our hearts always hunger for.

Almighty Infinite Father.

Faithfully loving your own,

Here in our weakness you find us

Falling before Your throne.

Oh, we're falling before Your throne.

You are the One that we praise.

You are the One we adore.

You give the healing and grace our

Hearts always hunger for.

Oh, our hearts always hunger for.

A first anniversary...

With the LORD, college, and a man this year I learned more than I ever would have guessed. Not more as in quantity of the usual. Not more of what I'm used to, like being accustomed to cheerios and then getting more in the bowl to swallow than the usual. I mean more as in instead of getting cheerios, I got some fruit loops, some frosted mini wheats, AND some lucky charms--a plethora of various material all in one shabang that I never really even considered learning. This year was the first year of my WHOLE LIFE to not be a homeschool student. This was my first year to drive myself places. This was my first year to be "older" than people. This was my first year to be working and talking to people who aren't in my homeschool group or church every single day. This was my first year for a lot of outreach ministry. And this was my first year to be courted by a dashing fella. It's this dashing fella I'm here to talk about. Basically, if you don't already know, he is my knight--everything I ever dreamed about. He's got the most beautiful smile. He's got a big imagination. He's a very hard worker. Oh, and his hands can do everything--he can do taekwondo, he can cook, he can clean, he can hack firewood, he can CNA people, he can play piano, and harmonica, and what can he NOT do? He's always out wanting to use them and I'm glad he's in a field where he can make money by working with them someday soon. He dresses pretty well and he likes looking good, so he takes my fashion advice ;P He's got strong defense mechanisms. For the most part, he's a very healthy eater (and is trying to help me out with my not-so-stellar habits in that area...I'm working on it). He's naturally good at what I have to work at. He calls me names--in a good way :) He brings me presents. He helps me with school. He reads to me at night. He teaches me martial arts. He teaches me songs. He teaches me to listen to Jesus. He teaches me about being a light. Of course though, that's not just him--he and the LORD team up and teach me things together for the most part :) Of course he's a human. He's got sins, he's got habits, he's got the same problems everyone else has in this world. He's not perfect. But he's perfect for me.
I love you sweetie! Happy first anniversary. I love you again!
