It's Already Over Now...

Yup! The Christmas Program at church is over! After a long while of working on it, tonight was the night. We showed up early to practice, puttered around for a little, then a horrid burst of static and fearful noise eng-swmf-SPLODED out of the speakers. Turns out it was Dad's electric drums acting up (who knows what the problem is, but I'll be praying about this one!). Tonight of all nights? Nothing could be done and Dad would just have to sit in the audience and watch and not play drums. Suddenly I got veeeerrrrrrrry nervous. I still don't know why... I play the keyboard at church every week! Maybe it was because we had worked on this so much and put so much thought into this one AND Dad wasn't gonna be up there. I think everyone else was a bit nervous too, but it turned out well and for the most part, everything functioned. The videos were great, and so were the cookies. God was there the whole time. Pam took a picture of the artful matching worship team minus Dad that maybe I'll post up here. Now I can let out a breath... wait - nix that. Wedding to shoot tomorrow! It's back to work!:P

If I don't post till Christmas.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!!!!!!!

Ya know what I love?

No, not the smell of that rubber handle on the putter that you know like a thousand other people have touched. THIS is a list of what I love in no particular order!

  • The Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They each do such wonderful things and I see them working in different ways.

  • My family. Immediate and extended. I love the funny dads (or daD), goofy brothers, giggly sisters, cocky cousins, crazy uncles, and all and everything in between!

  • My church. AHBC. Everyone there is like family - you can talk theology one minute, argue song lyrics and football teams the next. Start out with Bible study, and end on the time when a mouse ran out from under the dresser. Laugh or cry as needed. Great people, great pastor, and I love every part of it there!

  • My friends. They call me on the phone if I don't live near them. We can laugh and cry together. We can talk about everything!

  • Books. God gave me approximately... (quick count) 7 unread books to read at once. It has been so much fun being swamped with books after a dry spell!!!

  • The Colts. And so does God. Love the Colts, that is:)

  • Christmas food. It's good stuff.

  • Time to run on the treadmill and burn off all the Christmas food. Which... I have not had in about a week and definitely will not have tomorrow... dear, dear.

It's fun to love! And Christmas brings love to the very top of you! Love, you people! LOVE!!!!

Happy Birthday Toria!!!!!

Welcome to your blog party doll-face!!!!!!!!!! Let's get started...

First you wake up, get dressed, all that, and get ready to do whatever you ORIGINALLY had planned for today. But there's a knock at the door. You open it and it is...

ME!!!!!!!!!! We begin to have a wonderful time, and you drag me about and I get to meet all your friends... wait - this sounds more like MY blog party. Uh... let's move along, shall we?:P

We watch a football game together (the WHOLE thing) - and the Colts beat the Patriots!!! Whoo-hoo!!! The whole time, we are eating...

Pounds and pounds of chocolate!!!!!!!!!! We'd best move along, we've got a plane to catch... oh wait. Someone's at the door.

I'm not sure who ends up freaking out more... I think me. Even though I ASKED them to come. But the only reason I invited Brett to come was so he could personally apologize to us for lying, then betraying Green Bay. But he does remember to tell you happy birthday through my screaming in his face. But Peyton has a good time:)

We've got to go. We'll take Peyton with us cuz he's going anyway - the Superbowl beckons. WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!! If Peyton's with us, it means he's NOT playing at the Superbowl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Arg. Make it the NFC Championship. Yeah. That's much better. Whew. We fly to Giants Stadium where Eli is warming up. He's playing da BEARS. We enter our VIP locker room passes so you can wish Eli good luck before the game, and Meggy can run to the Bears locker room and get the autographs of Brian Urlacher, Devin Hester, and Matt Forte and personally thank the latter for getting her into the FFL playoffs. (Hey, it's an excuse not to take a shotgun to Hixon, right?) Ok, to the box seats. They have great food. The president's up there too. Hello Mr. President with the reflexes of a puma!:P Who else is there... ah, hi Reggie Wayne!!!!!! You rock. WHAT??? FAVRE???? How'd you find us????? Ok, you can sit in the back far away from us as long as you cheer for Giants.

He seems pleased with himself, don't he? Alright, the game's starting!!!!!

4 hours later, after the Giants victory, we go down to the locker room again and Eli gets the chance to talk to us again. Lucky guy:P

He and Peyton even throw some with us and the rest of our lives we'll be able to say we caught passes from the Mannings. We get a whole book of autographs, and you get me out of there fast before I murder Hixon.

Well, I haven't given you a present yet! Here's what I got for you...

Lotsa land for your ZOO!!!!!!! Course it needs some work, but there's plenty of time for all that.

Well, my plane's about to leave and I must go home. But I hope you had a wonderful blog party dearest, and your REAL present is on it's way. *sigh* this was a lovely party. Someday I shall come up and we shall do all those things! Well, some of those things:)

Thanksgiving stuff!!!!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving Day!!!! We had a great time! In fact, because everyone is sooooooo interested (heheh:P) I'll break it down for you! AND add some cool pictures too!!!!!

First, the guys got up and made us amazing breakfast! Cheesey eggs, bisquits and gravy, waffles, turkey sausage and bacon, and all kinds of yummy stuff!!!! It was real good and the guys did great!!!

We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Some of that was pretty fun - Arkansas had a marching band there and David Archuleta sang!

Then we got all the Christmas stuff out in the midst of a boring and annoying Detroit football game. We set up the tree...

and puppetized some nutcrackers:P...

Then Sticks decided to try and put the angel up top of the tree.

For the record, here's a math equation that all should memorize:

12 year old male + fully decorated Christmas tree + couch = not good thing

He knocked the tree over and came down with it.

It was funny until we had to clean up 4 broken glass balls. BUT, the tree stands as I type - Taggs are NOT to be defeated by a combination of destructive persons and greenery!!!:P

Presently we all headed over to the cousins' house in Colorado Springs!!! Aunty Mich made AWESOME food like this:

YUM! It was so yum! And guess what? My aunt doesn't cook! But now she is a pro turkeyer!!!!:D

Some of us had some fun on the trampoline...

(This is a totally cool pic or the totally cool cuz Potato doing a totally cool flip)

and some of us watched the stinkin Dallas game and played Madden.

(Dad and Mace. Dad won! Hahahahahaha!)

Here's the entire Thanksgiving gang! A weensey smaller than usual... it's minus Grandma and Grandpa (in FL), Unc Steve (in TX), and the Post gang (somewhere... not in CS:P)

All in all, it was one of the funnest Thanksgivings we've ever had! Hope everyone else had a great day (like us), had a lot to be thankful for (like us), had a lot of great food (like us), and that at least someone was happy with the outcome of the football games (not like us):P

"He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God." ~ Psalm 50:23

When you're jumping off a cliff, make sure there's a trampoline at the bottom first

After some serious soul-searching, I have reached a hard realization: I like Milky Way better than 3 Musketeers chocolate.
It is true.
I have decided thus because Milky Ways have the whipped chocolate AND caramely stuff, and the chocolate of the outside is thicker. That's the deal.

And here's a bit I thought was pretty funny:) Smile today!!!

"Thank God for disaster..."

Dad just bought an awesome CD!!!! It is THIS IS MY HEART by SINCE OCTOBER. Nice metal, good voices, great guitars, awesome lyrics, cool dreadlocks!!! What more could you ask for?

Um... what have I been doing? Oh, NaNoWriMo. National Novel Writing Month. I am officially not going to get 50,000 words by the end of this month. Not that I wouldn't like to, but I just do not have the time. Can I do it? No. I cannot. But I will meet it in battle nonetheless.

Started reading LEFT BEHIND. Good book.

Went rock-climbing with our wonderful homeschool group. Fun! Made it up two different levels of wall before I had blisters all over my hands and couldn't move my arms:P
This football season's going real well. My Colts and Giants won yesterday. And I'm gonna win this round in Fantasy Football too, so who knows? Maybe I'll make the playoffs after all!!!

When Taggs and Soccer Studs come together... this is how it's done.

First, background for those who have never been to an MLS game (that's soccer:0). When the players walk onto the field, they are holding the hands of these cute little kids that are wearing the home team's jersey. Ok?

So a couple weeks ago I hear that J-dude and Jess are invited to lead the Colorado Rapids onto the field in the playoff-spot-deciding game against Real Salt Lake. I was pretty excited, but J-dude was exciteder. When he first heard, he squeezed me real tight while SCREAMING quite loud, then plunked down on my lap and told me to find some cool Rapids videos to watch. The time finally comes... and excitement is in the air.

We show up early at the stadium where we meet up with the boys' extremely hyped teams. (BTW, their seasons just ended quite successfully) So we wait for a long time, then the boys are whisked away with my photographer dad who gets to be on the field and take pictures. Sticks and I get our free soccer balls (COOOOOL) and go to our special seats - in the bleachers behind the goal. But that's not cool until I say that the locker rooms for the teams are right off that part of the stadium and you get to stand there and high-five all the players as they come on and off. REALLY cool that we were early and KYLE BECKERMAN had nobody to high-five except us. And yes I did say KYLE BECKERMAN. But I'll say it again: KYLE BECKERMAN!!!!!!!! Dreadlocks himself!!!!! And yes he high-fived us cuz we screamed that he rocked as he walked by. The rest of Real Salt Lake pretty much high-fived us too, and that was awesome. Chris Wingert comes out and I whoop and hold out my hand, but he was already walking on the other side of the hall, so he just smiled and gave me a little wave. But I pouted and said, "Aw come on!" And... I suppose since I was so cute(:P) and all by my onesie he walked all the over to where I was to give me some skin. How sweeeeeet:P

But now warm-ups were over and I knew my boys would be coming out with them soccer players. Here's what they had been doing in the locker room, courtesy of my dad:

The cutest nutcases you'll ever see!!!

Yup, that's Kyle the BeckerMAN. He's too cool. In this one he's hittin Jess's hand in the light blue.

Then they come onto the field holding a Real Salt Lake player's hand!!!! I got video, but it's not here. But J-dude was holding Nat Borchers's hand (Denfender) and I'm not sure who Jess got. I was kinda bummed that they didn't get a player they knew on the Rapids, but it was ok. Here they were, courtesy of my dad, who had the wrong camera lens - hence the farawayness:

YAY!!!!

YAY some more!!!

Our National Anthem, which I was too busy getting in my seat and being excited to pay any attention to...:P

THEN...

They ran off. But the fun had literally just begun - the GAME was starting!!!! The only thing was that Christian Gomez didn't play, and he's my fave on the the Rapids. But it was ok. We were winning 1 to nuthin at the half, and I - heheh - wanted the Rapids to win, but I knew Real Salt Lake was awesome too. Sticks and I rushed to our spot to high-five players as they came back out. Snagged more Real Salt Lake guys. But the RAPIDS came out next!!!!!!! And even better... slowly!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tom McManus (yes the man himself) high-fives screaming girls with vigor. Terry Cooke and Colin Clark didn't even look at the twenty people yelling and holding out desperate hands:( But that was ok... cuz in everyone's disappointment, I looked up and saw coming down the steps... "GOMEZ!!!!!!!!!!" Yeah I hollered real good, and everybody else started up too. Christian Gomez kinda walked slow and didn't look at us a whole lot, leaning toward the far side where we couldn't reach him. But we yelled all the louder, and he smiled, shrugged and ran down the line again, high-fiving everybody. THAT was the coolest thing, cuz he rocks even more than Beckerman!!!! Ok, maybe not. Well - yeah he does!!!... Alright, it's a tie... no, I dunno... point is: they are both amazing and my hand was dripping with muy famousa soccer-player germs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was soooooooooooooo much fun!!!!!!!!

Hate to spoil things now... but the game ended at a tie and the Rapids needed a win to go to the playoffs, and... their season is done:( BUT that's ok!!!!! Because we had a big blast at the game, and got pictures, and free stuff, the boys got to keep their awesome light blue jerseys, and Sticks and I got to high-five awesome soccer guys. I bet God had fun watching us have all that fun - he tends to do that:)

Peace out!!!:D

I named my computer

Ever since my dear old Hunko'Junk passed away, my computer has been without a name. But no longer. My computer's name is...

Plaxico Burress!!!

Why? I always thought it sounded like a oil and gas company, or maybe a plexiglas products organization. Something you would see on the side of a semi while driving down the highway. But nary. So, now it is the name of a questionable wide receiver and a computation device.
Just thought I'd share that with everybody.
And while I am here, here's a sweet and cute commercial that's been playing alot, starring LT and Polamalu!!!!

Who's Hot and Who's NOT!!!

Brace yourself for more expert analysis - but this time, in a cool listy list with pictures and titles and stuff!!!!! Here are the two categories of today: Who's Through, and Who's Only Just Begun. Let's start with Who's Through!!!!

Who's Through #1 (Literally) - Martin Gramatica

We all know this guy - ever since the good Lord created the football, he's been kicking them every which way. But that may be about 3 years too long for Gramatica. What with the groin injury and after Monday's game, he should know to be honorably retiring - if not now, as soon as their season is over.

Who's Through #2 - Kurt Warner

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I was pushing for Matt Leinart the whole time during the preseason. The kid looks like a strong QB that knows what it takes to lead a football team. I say bring him on now! After getting defeated 56-35 by the Jets and fumbling the ball about every time he was touched, 37-year-old Kurt Warner texted his wife that he was going to retire. He's waiting out the season, but still thinking about it. This IS the final year of his contract, and Leinart is the future for this team - let's just all embrace the enjoyable inevitable!

Who's Through #3 - The Detroit Lions

Sad, but true. All I have to say is maybe next season.

Enough gloom and doom... who has only just begun? Well I'll tell you...

Who's Only Just Begun #1 - Matt Forte

No explanation needed! This RB has been rocking the NFL ever since he stepped foot into it's fair realm - and he's just getting warmed up!

Who's Only Just Begun #2 - The New York Giants

You got it! The whole team of them. Even with the retirement of Michael Strahan and the injury of Umienyora, this defense has been for the most part, impenetrable. And don't even get me started talking about the offense! Brandon Jacobs is an amazing rusher, and Eli Manning's passing has been amazing with only 1 interception this year. They've been scoring an average of 31.75 every single game - no baseball scores this season folks! The Giants are still on top, and are out to prove to a cynical America that Super Bowl XLII was NOT a fluke.

Who's Only Just Begun #3 - Aaron Rodgers

After my personal disappointment and recovery over the Favre incident, I gave Rodgers a good checking-out. When I finally expressed faith in the preseason, everybody laughed and rolled their eyes. Packer fans weren't too happy either - but now that he's getting better stats than anyone could have imagined, their insults got shoved back into their own throats. Who's laughing now? That would be Rodgers. And you have to show respect for a guy that comes out and plays the whole game with a sprained shoulder and still throws three TD passes. The dude is a Good Quarterback with a capital "G". Don't get hung up because the Packers haven't won every game - give him time. This is his first starting NFL season and frankly folks, it's amazing football.

So there you have it, all you football fans that are hanging on my every word! (All -17 of you!!!!) And I hath also decided that I ain't so bad at this whole NFL analysis article thing - one of these days I'll do it for a living!!!! Ok, maybe not...

Stop eating glass!!!

Yistaday we played flag football with our wonderful new homeschool group teens!!! And Cherry was there!!! We didn't get to talk much, but we passed some interesting, TOP SECRET notes!!!!:P It was a lot of fun and I feel like I'm getting to know and like everybody much better (even though I did have to suffer humiliation on account of the COLTS:P) I made some good flag footbally plays though. Got penalized twice for unnecessary roughness to my sister:P And NOW Cherry Luthien knows how to play football!!! It was quite lovely all around!!!
We went home, ate lunch, and found out that Grandma and Grandpa were coming that very day!!!!! Hooray!!!! They came and it was very happy!!!!
Ended the day by going to a Rockies game!!! Ya know how much more fun baseball is when you're actually AT the game? Insanely a lot!!!!!
Oh yeah, and Lucy made some cookies that turned out to be mush and were REALLY good!!!
Tonight we're going to my great-aunt's to celebrate my grandma and aunt's birthday with some home-cooked Korean food!!! Yum!!!
(Note to self: Defend the Colts from my Uncle's booing at all costs:P)

Expert Analysis

Tommorow we have gym day and I'll probably post about that, but now for a little Tagg NFL talk. Read this exclusive article on the experts' Superbowl XLIII picks!!!

Dad Picks: The Oakland Raiders. What with the excellent, unstoppable, Adrian-Peterson-beating rookie Darren McFadden at RB, they're bound to get some high scores. Their current state: 1-1, decent for Raiders, who haven't done so well in the past.

Sticks Picks: The Chicago Bears. He's not guessing - he's 100% sure. With coach Lovie Smith at the helm and a new starting QB, the Bears look more explosive and seem to want it more already this season. But the big reason for the pick - Lovie Smith is a good Christian coach, and there's no way he can't win a big one doing it God's way. ESPECIALLY when Tony Dungy believes that the Bears will get a set of purty rings!!! Their current state: 1-1. Two pretty good games.

Meggy T picks: The New York Giants. It took her awhile to pick, but these guys are looking loaded this season. Even after the last Superbowl win, they are not getting any attention, nor are they expected to repeat. Meggy's reasoning is: "WHY NOT?" Despite Umienyora, the Giants have shown the world that they are a good team, and the fact is, they are STILL a good team and they're STILL proving it! Their current state: 2-0, and both games won with pretty big scoring margins.

Sometimes... things happen.

I hath done it today.
It is finished.
What is finished you ask?
Or maybe you didn't.
Well, I'll tell you anyway.
Anybody know the word.... SAXON?
As in, MATH?
After 10 years - that's one-zero YEARS (which are 365 days each and maybe two or three leap years)
I have DONE IT!
I have finished the LAST Saxon Math lesson I will ever do!
The last lesson of the last book.
I have done it.
I tied up ten years worth of math by drawing a graph on problem 25.
Just that simple!
Ten years!!!
Ten years all done.
Comment and congratulate me, all you jealous people!!!
On yet another school note, I have found that I have enough credits to graduate in the class of 09 and go to college next year. Whoa. But we decided to wait and concentrate on ACT prep, and CLEP prep, and driving. CoOoOoOoOol.
Well, that's my school life. Now to all my other lives.
My writing life is going quite well. Preparing for NaNoWriMo, which you should all do. I am writing many things. Be sure to participate on the ongoing comment story hosted by our dear Pip. Post a comment with your next part of the story! Be creative, yet stay with the storyline somewhat remotely.
God is showing me little new things every day in my spiritual life. I've been thinking a lot on the subject of worship, as has been everybody else on our church worship team. I wrote a post on it here. I'd like to know what YOU think worship is!
My football life is depressing.
My fantasy football team hasn't won yet because I have good players that are performing badly. But Tom Brady's out and the Giants are on a roll.
Hate the Cowboys.
Love their QB.
Complications out my ears.
My movie-making life is rocking. Hear now a top secret, never-to-be-revealed, 100% classified set of lines from one of our not as lame movies, THE SECRET LIFE OF DARTH VADER!!!!!
"Where ya goin' with those chips Darth?"
"Jedi Santita. It would be better for you if you let me and my chips pass. I must get back in time to force-choke Rex Grossman."
"I can't let you do that Darth. Rex Grossman is on my fantasy team!"
And a heated fight ensues. And the crowd goes wild.
How many other lives do I have? I know not. But if they cause trouble, I'll be sure to let you know.
Comment me, people of the world!!!

Indianapolis, we have a problem.

I am quite depressed, for I have just witnessed something no living person should have to witness. The Indianapolis Colts lost the Grand Opener at Lucas Oil Stadium to the Bears in a remake of Superbowl XLI.

Dallas Clark was again hit and taken out in his valiant attempts at tight-ending.

Joesph Addai was wounded in battle.

Peyton Manning - now there's a 300 page tragedy story in itself. It was his first game since his knee surgery, and I was expecting the Peyton that had been ancy to get back the whole season. The Peyton with that "I'm the real deal" swagger and the southern drawl. The risk-taker Peyton. The Peyton that I like. Instead I see this alien that's happy to be playing, yet unsure how this thing's gonna go down. There was all this uncertainty and doubt in his eyes! He only threw one touchdown pass. He did nothing out of the expected. He didn't throw a crazy Hail Mary during the last few seconds even though they couldn't win. He didn't stamp his feet and throw up his hands screaming when the ref made a bad call, or even when he himself threw something that looked like a drunk bat. He called timeouts and huddles in the red zone. Oh well, it was the first game and he'll find his groove. It just took him a little long. Like, more than one game. Which is uncharacteristic. That number 18 didn't even LOOK like Peyton Manning - it must have been his evil second-cousin. Sticks and I were passing the empty Quakers bag around for most of the game.
What shall become of us? What to do, what to do...
